Reviewing Materials / Unsolicited Materials
Mr. Schwartz has had to make a policy not to review any materials outside the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop and the grant panels he sits on. He feels if he says yes to one, he would have to say yes to all. When the ASCAP workshops are taking submissions, we post a notice on the news section of StephenSchwartz.com. Thank you for understanding Mr. Schwartz’s need to be strict with this policy.
Mentorship
Mr. Schwartz has received a lot of requests from writers interested in having him as a mentor. While he finds this extremely flattering, he simply doesn’t have the time at present, given the projects to which he is currently committed.
School Projects
We ask that students make use of previously published sources of information as a basis for school projects related to Stephen Schwartz and his musicals. The authorized biography “Defying Gravity: the Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz, from GODSPELL to WICKED,” by Carol de Giere, includes hundreds of quotes from Mr. Schwartz and others. In addition, each “Work” included in the WORKS Section of www.stephenschwartz.com includes links to pdf files that include answers to many questions that Mr. Schwartz was able to provide in previous years. Additional information can be found by following this link Stephen Schwartz Fan Site.

Email on Pause
With post-production in progress for WICKED: Part II and ongoing work on the upcoming Broadway production of The Queen of Versailles, Mr. Schwartz’s schedule has become exceptionally demanding. At this time, he is unable to accommodate extracurricular or non-project-related requests and cannot accept email submissions via his website.
