Synopsis

Set in a small French provincial village in the 1930’s, THE BAKER’S WIFE is a gently comic and bittersweet fable of life, love and bread. An amiable older baker and his beautiful wife come to a small town replete with petty feuds and comically calcified relationships. When the wife runs off with a handsome young chauffeur, the town is changed forever.
