GODSPELL, JUNIOR
Music and New Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz
Conceived and Originally Directed by John Michael Tebelak
Based on “The Gospel According to St. Matthew”

Stephen Schwartz’s thoughts on Godspell, Jr.
“Because this version of the show is designed to be performed by a large cast of younger children, the complex subtext of the original (the development of a community out of disparate individuals) is superseded by more of a fun story-theatre-style re-telling of the parables and teachings. Like the full-length version, it gives the kids in the cast a lot of room for fun and creativity .
